Why I decided to pursue a life of adventure

Yosemite Taft Point

I moved to Colorado to be a Flight attendant in 2005

When I moved to Colorado from Alabama, I didn't know anyone. I had three flight attendant roommates and I quickly found out that I didn't get along particularly well with any of them. Who they were in training, was not who they were when it came to living together. I didn't have much money so I found the one thing that was always free to do in Colorado - hike. The outdoors became my escape from my roommates and literally grounded me from my otherwise crazy life up in the sky. I met my (now) husband several months later and he and I started hiking together as well and he introduced me to my first Colorado 14ers (a peak with a prominence of over 14,000 feet of which Colorado has 58). Hiking quickly became my passion and beyond that I loved sharing my new hobby with others. I started planning 14er hiking and camping trips for our friends and I'd charge ahead on the mountain...energized by the fresh air and excitement of leading a group. Several years later I turned my love of hiking into a business by combining adventure and yoga into a retreat format. I also have a love for photography and so, when people would see my photos, they would want to adventure with me. Of course, I didn't have time to arrange adventures for everyone so, charging for my time became a way I could travel, hike and get paid to explore. My first retreat I hosted was in Telluride in 2014 and I learned so much from the experience. I didn't have a website or logo or even a way to take payments other than checks. What you see today....from this website to my photos is a culmination of years of hard work and bringing my dreams to light.

Where do I see myself in 5 years? Hopefully right here on the edge of a cliff overlooking a beautiful valley. Full of wonder and excitement and knowing I've got a great group of clients joining me.

I'm also a full time mom and Wife

I get it, your time is valuable. And you have loved ones at home awaiting your return from your adventure. I promise I'll make your time away worth it, and not only that, you deserve it for all you do!

My two vizslas Stevie and Buck keep me busy and inspire me to get out every day. I named them after the queen of rock and a nod to her first band Buckingham Nicks. If you don't know already I'm a huge Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac fan. Hands down my favorite band and artist and I'll travel anywhere to see Stevie in concert.

"Over drinks, over brunch, we talk about tackling our first 14er. Problem is, we have a nagging suspicion that it might take a little more than putting down our Bloody Mary and strapping on a backpack. So we went to trusted friend, on all things adventure, Natalie Magee of Yogi Magee Expeditions to get her take on how we can prepare."

"Natalie is best known for her Yoga Adventure retreats, where she teaches yoga in beautiful locations and leads adventures for guests who lodge with her - BUT she is also a wife, a mother, a business owner, a flight attendant and an avid outdoors enthusiast! Juggling all of that requires some serious energy and focus - and that's where Apollo Energy Gum® comes in!"

"When Natalie Magee injured her knee on a hike, it could have spelled the end of an active lifestyle involving global travel, hiking, rock climbing, yoga, surfing, paddle boarding and more. But Natalie wasn’t about to say goodbye to her life’s passions. Instead, she began researching ways to care for and support her body better so she could continue doing the things she loved."

"Growing up in a place where my family name wasn’t known definitely inspired me to move out of state to make a name for myself. It has been so much easier to find business opportunities in a state like Colorado where there are more outdoors-minded people. "
